Happy New Year, my flist!

Seriously, it was the best Texas Bowl ever. We set an attendance record. Ray Rice set a record for most yards rushing. Then again, it *was* the first ever Texas Bowl.
Houston is definitely a different place. We were walking around, clad in our scarlet, white, and black Rutgers gear and people would stop us on the street to ask us what Rutgers was (one woman asked "What's a 'Rutger'?"). Living only a 10-15 minute drive from Rutgers, it was so strange to hear people ask what Rutgers was. Most people didn't even know that there was a bowl game going on.
It's so strange to go to a city like Houston when you're used to bustling New York. In NY, you kinda just cross when a) there are no cars coming or b) the traffic is so bad you can weave in and out of the cars and make it across before they get going again. So this week, pretty much everyone in Houston had the week off so there was almost no traffic. As we were walking to dinner, we realized that there were no cars coming and crossed, even though the sign said not to. This guy on the other side of the street looked at us like we were crazy.
So anyway...I'd get nice and comfy because the next part is a bit long...
( Day 1-Arrival )
( Day 2-Pep Rally )
( Day 3-Gameday )
It was really one of the most amazing experiences ever.

I blew off German club to attend the first meeting of the Gay-Straight Alliance at our school. It was interesting. Only about 12-13 kids showed up and we need to show that at least 20 are interested to be considered a club next year. So that was actually pretty cool.
And we got all the info about the Texas Bowl today. There is the pep rally on the 27th (I arrive in Houston on the 26th), and a tex mex tailgate party on the 28th, the day of the game. I'm pretty excited about this, because it's a great thing for Rutgers to be in a single bowl game, let alone bowl games TWO YEARS in a row. I couldn't have dreamed up a situation like this.

I was at the Rutgers Women's Basketball game on Saturday, and about 6-7 rows and a bit to the right was this person who looked exactly like Mandana Jones from the side. Except she had blonde spiky hair. Still really hot.
Just thought I'd share that with you all...
In other news...My parents and I will be heading down to Houston for the Texas Bowl to watch Rutgers play in their 2nd bowl game in a row. It should be a lot of fun. We have a group of about 40-50 people that we're tailgating with because my neighbor found a company that will do a tailgate for about $15/person for us out there, since we're all flying and can't exactly bring grills and propane on the plane.
I'm so incredibly excited.
I bought this really cool shirt the other day from the Scarlet Fever in downtown New Brunswick. On the front it says "Exit 9" (you know the Jersey joke-"What exit do you live at?") and on the back it has a little thing of the actual Turnpike sign that says Rutgers University on it. It's pretty cool.

Connie Nielsen as Dani (Danni? Danny?) on SVU is such a dyke. I really wouldn't be against her sticking around for longer thatn 6 episodes.
She should seriously be a permanent replacement for Ol!ska.
I love her butch attitude.

**This one only took me 20 seconds to get banned from for changing the topic to a really annoying long string of symbols.
I DID IT FOR THE LULZ!
UPDATE: I have been banned from #windows about 6 or 7 times now, under many different usernames and such.

I have officially been IP banned from irc.freenode.net. Yes, that's right. The entire server!
That's skill.

Raise your hand if you think the new detective on Law & Order: Criminal Intent is gay...
*raises hand*
Totally.
Perhaps it's a bit of an "I'm sorry" from Dick Wolf for the tragedy that has become Olivia Benson?

I would so do Ms. Latchaw.

Look at your LJ userpics list. If you have fewer than 50 icons, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five icons, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five icons, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List each one in your LJ, and tell everyone exactly why you have it, why it's interesting to you, what significance it has.

-A RENT icon I made for Joanne/Maureen. Love is love.

-I'm too mesmerized by this icon to even say anything.

-I thought the Perp!Slam would make a great PWNED icon. It actually came out pretty nice with that little light where Cragen is walking in on the right, no?

-Would the real Detective Benson please stand up? It's a mock on the ever-changing looks of Benson.
And although it's not really following the rules, I'm posting this one anyway...

-This is actually the Team 25 Raider Robotix logo, for those on my flist who did not know that...

So here's my new Dead Poet's Society-themed layout. Header's not very good. I'm still trying to get used to GIMP. I really don't like it, but it's all I have.
I'll probably go make a new one when I can snag the desktop for an hour or so or just find one to use that's pre-made.
Well, good night to you all...

But really...thanky mucho to
kaial,
scrtcwlvl, and

Hello everyone out there in flist land!
I don't really have much of a reason for updating, other than that I just wanted to spread the word on RandomProxy. Just add them to your AIM Buddy List and IM them. It will pair you with someone else who has requested a conversation. It's really cool. Just last night, I met a bunch of robotics people.
Right now, it's mostly people from Chief Delphi, so you're bound to meet some FIRSTers.
